How ScanGov scans work.

We conduct two types of scans:

ScanGov (via our paid plans that scans all web pages in your account)
Project ScanGov (our open source project that scans just homepages)

Frequency and scheduling

Monthly scans

Every URL in your ScanGovaccount is scanned once per month automatically. No setup required.

On-demand scanning

You can start an immediate scan at any time using the scan button at either the domain or URL level.

Custom scan frequency

Custom scheduling (e.g. weekly) isn't available yet.

Scan configuration

Adding a domain

Add a domain from the home screen and we'll automatically find and scan the first 1,000 URLs. You can adjust which URLs are included from the domain's settings.

Limiting which URLs are scanned

You can narrow the scan scope by configuring a single domain. This lets you focus on specific sections of a site rather than scanning everything.

How scores are calculated

Each URL is scanned individually. Scores are then rolled up and aggregated at the domain level so you can see overall health at a glance.

Authenticated pages

Scanning pages behind a login isn't supported yet. If you need this, contact us and we can work with you on it.
